Vegetable plot – May

Chinese cabbage cut in half

This month on the Kings Seeds plot [2016], Andrew Tokely has been working extra hard. Due to the dry conditions he’s been knocking the plots down by hand. The first plot is netted to protect from pigeons and has been planted with brassicas as Andrew explained to Ken Crowther.

If you don’t like to wait too long for your vegetables to grow from seeding to eating, then why not try Chinese leaves.

The seeds can be sown from April through to August and be ready in seven weeks and used in salad and stir fries as Colin Randall from Thompson & Morgan told Ken Crowther.

Chinese Cabbage variety ‘Natsuki’ is available now from Thompson & Morgan.
