Most of the fruit has been picked and turned into jams, jellies, preserves and conserves and now Tiptree’s attention turns to Christmas and the festive season.
Getting ready for Christmas and finishing up the fruit season (2014)
Down on the farm this year’s growing season has been ‘challenging’ with weather conditions affecting the picking of crops. Ken Crowther met up with Anton Thurgood, farm commercial manager from Wilkin & Sons Ltd to discuss what’s been good this summer.

Factory manager, Simon Dungworth looks ahead to Christmas and how the company makes puddings ready for the festive period.
On a busy day the factory will produce around 6,000 Christmas puddings!
