Jobs in the garden for October
Ken offers some advice on what to do in the garden this month and suggests direct sowing of broad bean seeds and garlic cloves.
Ken says:
As the days start to get shorter then the gardener needs to focus on harvesting all the produce that can be recovered. Storage of fruit and vegetables can help to maintain stocks for later on into the winter.

Cloves of garlic can produce a number of bulbs to plant ready for seasoning next year’s vegetable dishes. Autumn planted garlic is usually ready to harvest at the beginning of summer.
Ken looks at some autumn colour and is pleased to find his agapanthus flowering again.
