Safe, clean and healthy feeding stations for our wild birds

When Dick Woods witnessed 40 greenfinches die in his garden he started investigating the cleanliness of his feeders

Dick Woods’ passion is for promote avian healthy bird feeders to prevent the spread of disease in the wild bird population.

He witnessed 40 greenfinches die in his garden and that set him on a journey to investigate the design and make-up of bird feeders. At the time he did not clean his feeders and as a result he found that a parasite called Trichomonas gallinae could cause Trichomonosis in birds.

It is commonly transmitted on bird feeders and on bird tables, through consumption of food and drink contaminated by infected birds.
