When to prune laurel

A laurel hedge.

Q: I have a laurel bush (tree) about 10 feet high, 10 feet long and 4 feet thick. When is the best time to prune it,  please. Thank you, Don

A: Ideally you should prune laurels in May with secateurs and not with a hedge trimmer.
