Coton Manor in Northamptonshire is a 17th century manor house set in 10 acres of gardens. The gardens were laid out in the 1920s by the present owner’s grandparents, and developed and extended over the years. Susie Pasley-Tyler gave Ken Crowther a guided tour of the grounds.
This year, 2016, is the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot ‘Capability Brown’, a garden designer who changed the landscaped of the English Countryside. Some of the rarely-opened Capability Brown landscapes are opening to the public as part of the NGS. Carol Evans, festival director spoke to Ken Crowther about his work.
