If you don’t like to wait too long for your vegetables to grow from seeding to eating, then why not try Chinese leaves. The seeds can be sown from April through to August and be ready in seven weeks and used in salad and stir fries as Colin Randall from Thompson & Morgan told Ken Crowther.

As one of the UK’s largest mail order seed and plant companies, Thompson & Morgan would not be where they are today without plant breeders.  It’s a job which means looking for the usual, new, exciting and successful new plants.  Charles, a plant breeder for T&M explained to Ken Crowther what he is working on at the moment.

Thompson & Morgan has grown considerably since its first seed catalogue was published in 1855, they are now one of the UK’s largest mail order seed and plant companies shipping products from their Suffolk base. The range includes loads of garden ready sized plants as Michael Perry told Ken Crowther.

The greenhouse at Thompson & Morgan in Suffolk is packed with a huge range of plants in various sizes ready to be despatched.  The company is known for its plug plants but now they have got bigger with ‘Postiplugs’ which can fit through most letter boxes to garden ready plugs that ready to go outdoors as soon as they are delivered as T&M’s Michael Perry explained to Ken Crowther.
